A inspiring story.

In October 2023, Delta flight attendant Felicia Kaye experienced her first time working with an all-Black flight crew, including both pilots and all flight attendants, on a flight from Atlanta to Kansas City. Kaye shared the moment on social media, noting how rare and meaningful it was to see full representation in the cockpit and cabin. The photo quickly went viral, resonating with many who saw it as a powerful example of progress in the aviation industry.

While Delta has had all-Black crews before, this spontaneous alignment of schedules made the moment feel particularly special for those involved. Kaye, along with fellow crew members Alana Doucette and Tim Lee, described the experience as magical and empowering. The image even drew comparisons to historic milestones, such as Ruth Carol Taylor's groundbreaking role as the first African-American flight attendant in 1958. [3]

This event underscores the importance of representation in aviation and highlights Delta's ongoing efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within its workforce.
