The North American XB-70 Valkyrie
, a stunning piece of Cold War aviation engineering, is known for its advanced design and unique capabilities. It had six General Electric YJ93 turbojet engines, specially designed for sustained Mach 3 performance. The engines used afterburners to maximize thrust and was capable of reaching Mach 3 (over 2,000 mph). 2 prototypes were built.
